Beautify Your Bedroom On A Budget
We spend one-third of our lives asleep, which means that your bedroom should be a space that you love. You may not always be awake when you’re in there, but it should still be a room that appeals to you. Waking up in a bedroom that is old, worn or in need of an update, won’t set you up to have a good day. Instead, it will most probably leave you feeling stressed out and frustrated.
If your bedroom isn’t in the best state, it’s most probably because you’re worried about the cost of updating it. Renovating a space, no matter how small, can be seriously costly. It’s this that makes us presume if money is tight, we can’t makeover a space. However, that’s not necessarily the case. Even if you’re on a tight budget, you can still beautify your bedroom; it’s just a case of getting creative.
For all the best tips and tricks for making over your bedroom on a budget, keep reading.
Paint in a new color
It’s amazing how much difference painting can make to the look and feel of a space. Pop to your local DIY store and pick out a new paint color for your bedroom – make sure it’s different to your old color. Pastel hues like powder pink, duck egg blue, and mint green are all very in right now, and are pretty too. Or, if you prefer neutrals, matte gray can work well and I personally love this shade for a bedroom. There’s something about matter colors that add a touch of class to just about any space. If you’ve got wallpaper, steam it off and then paint the walls. You could apply more wallpaper, but this will cost you a rather high amount, so painting is probably best.
Swap the flooring
Just like a coat of paint can make a big difference, so can new flooring. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that updating your flooring has to be expensive because it doesn’t. It’s just a case of being smart about the type you opt for, as well as where you shop from. The cheapest option is most probably carpet, although lino can also be affordable. For a bedroom, however, carpet is the best option as it adds a sense of comfort and luxury. To ensure your carpet wears well, opt for a dark color like gray or navy so that stains and dirt won’t show up. If you can’t afford new carpet, your best option is to have your flooring professional cleaned. You would be amazed at the difference this will make to the look and feel of your carpet.
Update your furniture
If your bedroom furniture is looking a little old and worn, but you can’t afford to replace it, consider revamping it. The good news is that updating your furniture yourself doesn’t have to be costly or time-consuming; it can be as simple as adding a coat of paint. It’s amazing what a coat of paint and swapping the hardware of a piece of furniture can do. For material pieces, recovering them can make a massive difference.
So there you have it, everything that you need to know about updating your bedroom on a budget.
