Below are a list of overnight beauty fixes that will not only make you looking fresh and ready for the day, but it will make you feel great as well. Moisturize Chronic All-Over Dry Skin
To treat chronically dry skin (or save us from this frigid winter), dermatologists suggest sleeping with a humidifier in your bedroom. It’s important in the winter when the air is generally drier, but you may need it in the summer, as well—especially if you’re running the air-conditioning.
Natural Beach Waves
While we can’t all wake up with the perfect wave, they definitely can be achievable. My favourite trick is to shower before bed and once air dried until damp, apply a small amount of styling cream. Depending on how loose you want the curl and your hair texture, make either two french braids or one down the middle or even twist into a few small buns. Even if you don’t wake up with the perfect curl, a few hits with your curling iron can give you the perfect look. This is also the best way to add some bounce to your locks!
Smooth Soles
The winter time calls for dry skin, and that includes feet as well. For the best overnight treatment to get your feet feeling smooth again, apply Vaseline to the soles of your feet and put on socks before you sleep. The socks help bind the moisture to your feet and you’ll wake up to soft, smooth soles. It may be winter, but who knows, you might feel sassy and throw on a pair of strappy heels for a night out!
Coconut Oil + Tea Tree Oil Face Mask
The coconut oil and tea tee oil mixture produces a serum that will help reduce redness in rashes and acne. Mix a few drops of tea tree oil to a spoonful of coconut oil and combine until a clear serum has formed. Spread evenly on the face before bed and wash off in the morning! Voila!
Lengthen lashes
What lady wouldn’t want long lashes? The secret? Castor oil. This natural oil is rich in super-hydrating omega-6 fatty acids, which help moisturize your lashes and prevent breakage. Using a spoolie, gently brush the castor oil through your lashes each night. In the morning, just rinse with warm water and wash your face as usual. Good morning, beautiful!
Brighten Stained Teeth
Want a whiter smile? Opt for baking soda before bed. After you brush your teeth, simply dip your toothbrush in baking soda and brush your teeth again. Even though you can do this treatment any time during the day, you want to wait at least an hour before eating or drinking anything, so it’s ideal to whiten while you sleep. Just be careful and only do it once a week so you don’t damage your teeth.
Smooth Lips
Lips can get chapped. Of course. By simply applying chapped stick or blistex to your lips before bed, you can prevent the dreaded winter chapping that happens far too often. This only means that the red lipstick you plan to wear tomorrow will stay put and look smooth!
Hair Repair
Smooth coconut oil or olive oil to the tips of your locks before bedtime. Throw your hair into a ponytail and rub the oil to the tip. Cover that portion of the hair with sceran wrap so it doesn’t get on your pillow. Applying the oil overnight will give your hair that extra time to really absorb it and once you wake up and wash out the oil out, your hair will be shiny and soft once styled!
Sleek Cuticles
Cuticles can get incredibly dry, especially during the winter months. Be sure to apply cuticle oil each night to prevent cracking and dry nail beds. Don’t have cuticle oil? Try coconut oil. It works like a charm!
