2017 Travel Bucket List
Another year has started and I am so ready to take it on. The only “resolution” I guess you could say that I have is to travel more.
Of course, not so much a resolution, but instead a promise I made to myself. While I enjoyed a few short but sweet trips last year, I knew that this year I really needed to explore, see the places that have been on my bucket list and really learn a little bit more about myself. They do say that the best way to learn about yourself is to travel, after all!
I always find myself on travel sites, looking for must-see destinations and keeping my eyes peeled for the latest travel trends and tips to keep in my back pocket for when I’m ready to get planning. I have however been obsessing over a few destinations that are not only on my travel bucket list, but are accessible on KAYAK, the world’s leading travel search engine.
The travel search engine site makes vacation planning easier by offering travelers the information they need to find the right flights, hotels, rental cars and vacation packages. The company’s website and apps also offer tools to help travelers plan and manage their trip, including price alerts, price forecasts and itinerary management. It was also KAYAK that made me realize that my personal travel bucket list was on point when they revealed this year’s top trending destinations for Canadians! I’m talking beautiful scenery and culture which to me, make for the best travel memories!
Havana
I remember watching Dirty Dancing – Havana Nights back in the day and immediately being drawn to the colours and culture of the city. I have yet to even make it to Cuba, but I refuse to visit without seeing Havana up close. Known for its cigars and famous vintage cars, I just crave the vibe of Havana and of course, never hearing a bad review, I know it’s a must!
Reykjavik
Reykjavik also made it on to KAYAK’S top trending destinations list and I am not surprised one bit. In case you didn’t know, Reykjavik is located on the coast of Iceland and is the country’s capital and largest city. Iceland has become a hot destination for many as of late with close friends visiting as well as my brother and his bride-to-be jet-setting to Iceland for their honeymoon. It’s safe to say that I am having a serious case of FOMO when I hear all about it. If Iceland isn’t on your travel bucket list, give it some research here, and I promise it will soon be!
Rio de Janeiro
If I didn’t care to visit Rio before, then the latest 2016 Olympics, definitely influenced me to add it to my 2017 travel bucket list, which is why I wasn’t shocked to hear that this beautiful spot made it onto KAYAK’s top trending destinations list for Canadians. Not only does Rio have beautiful beaches, but I’ve heard the nightlife and music that follows you everywhere are equally enjoyable. Like my previous destinations that I’ve mentioned, I’m all about the stunning views and beautiful culture, and Rio de Janeiro will definitely not disappoint. From the Corcovado Mountain to the instagram-worthy Ipanema beach, I know that if I get the chance to visit Rio, I will have plenty of items on my to-do list. I’m thinking it will be the perfect destination for sun, sand, sights and sounds of the energetic city!
Are these destinations on your list too? Would love to hear some great travel options since I need to plan my next vacay!
