3 Ways to Pull Off the Power Suit Trend

I just love a good suit! Over the last year especially I’ve been suit obsessed and have not accumulated far too many styles, but I just can’t help myself. Particularly in the fall and winter months, suits can go a long way, which is why I’ve continued to incorporate them into my wardrobe.

Whether you are wearing a suit for the office, looking to amp up your suit game for a special event or even just looking to pick up a suit to mix and match with you favourite wardrobe pieces, there are a number of different ways to rock your favourite suit!

The Full Powersuit

This is a no brainer, but rocking a full power suit set just gives me all the boss babe vibes. A full suit I find is often overlooked because some think that it’s far too formal or it’s only for the office, but I can assure you that isn’t the case. A full suit can work with a number of different shoe styles like the obvious heels to the not-so-obvious sneakers which I personally love. For this full DEX suit look, I switched things up and paired it with a cozy knit and a simple pair of block heels. This was the ideal combo for the winter months and I love how this combo looks sans jacket!

The Mix + Match

As I’ve mentioned, my favourite part of a suit is the fact that you can easily mix and match the top and bottom to create a number of different looks. A classic pair of denim easily works with a suit jacket for ‘casual Friday’ in the office, or you can rock your suit bottoms with a simple tee and sneakers and swapping out the jacket for a denim jacket instead. The options are really endless!

For this look, I paired my DEX blazer with a blue miniskirt, classic tee and white sneakers while touring Paris, and it was comfortable, yet felt put together so I was able to go from touring, to shopping and then to lunch!

The Suit Dress

This season I absolutely fell in love with the suit dress which you can see here. A suit dress offers the same suit-like look but with a little twist and I’m all for it. Pair a suit dress for the office with a pair of loafers or pumps and then take the suit dress to an evening party with some glam heels or otk boots when the weather gets cold. This option is perfect for a gal who likes to keep things girly!
