There’s pretty much an App for almost anything these days, including home décor and design. Here are just a few of my favourites that make planning for projects easier.

Houzz

Houzz is a great app for inspiration and ideas for renovations and design. Once you create a an account, you can add idea books for different themes. Some photos even feature tags on products used within a space, which you can then click on to find more information and where to buy specific products.

MagicPlan 

Magic Plan is another useful app for creating floor plans for almost any space. You simply stand in the middle of a room and rotate with your device while labeling the corners of your space. When you’re done, a floor plan with measurements is created where you can layout custom sized furniture and structural components. It takes a little getting used to, but it’s a great tool that can save you time.

Floorplans 

Similar to MagicPlan, Floorplans allows you to create great plans with a little more detail. This app is great if you already have the measurements of a space. You can develop your floor plan and easily make changes to it as you progress through a project. What I like about this particular app is that you can add more detail to your plans with colourful furniture and textured floors. It makes it easier to visualize the final outcome.

MyPantone

MyPantone features all of the iconic and inspirational colours of the brand. What’s really cool about this app is that you can select a specific colour that can then be matched with a variety of different colour combinations. When choosing paint colours, this app comes in handy by allowing you to see which combinations work for the effect you’re trying to create in a space.

House and Home Mobile

With this app you have tons of multimedia content for home décor and design right at your fingertips. They feature great DIY videos, as well as feature articles on the latest trends. This app compliments their website, so it’s a great alternative to read if you’re on the go.
