5 Summer Staples That Can Carry On To Fall 

I hate to admit it, but with the cooler weather creeping up on us each night, there is no denying that fall will be here before you know it and rather than weep uncontrollably, I have chosen to welcome the new season (as long as its kind to us) because Fall fashion is my favourite!

Instead of switching my wardrobe over from Summer to Fall entirely, I am looking for new ways to reinvent some pieces so that I can get more wear out of them and keep that Summer spark going a little while longer!

Culottes:

Gah, what did I ever do before culottes? Probably one of my favourite pieces to wear all year long, I am going to continue rocking my culottes all throughout fall with the help of some cozy knits and swapping my strappy heels for ankle boots instead. I have said it before, and I’ll say it again – culottes are the perfect item to add to your wardrobe because you can dress it up, down and wear them all year round!

Floral Dresses:

I know girls that literally pack up all their floral dresses the second that fall hits, but there is really no need for that. Most, if not all floral dresses work for fall as well, but it is really all in how you layer it. Don’t limit yourself by just covering up with a coat, but instead, layer a turtleneck under your dress, add stockings, or a cozy knit and you can get that fall – inspired look easily.

Shorts:

When you think of shorts, you automatically think summer, but really, it doesn’t have to end there. Layer your shorts with some pretty printed stockings and rock a blazer on top to create a chic tailored look! You can even ignore the stockings and just go bare legged with some over the knee boots!

Bold Accessories:

Yes, you will have on more layers in Fall, but there is no need to hide all of your vibrant jewellery! Tassel earrings for instance can look chic with a turtleneck while layered necklace look amazing with a loose blouse and leather jacket. Fall is also the perfect time to look at your coats and outerwear as an accessory so pick up a bold leather jacket and let it stand out!

White Denim:

Does that “don’t wear white jeans after Labor Day” saying still exist, because it doesn’t for me! You go on wearing your white denim all throughout fall because it looks so chic with a cozy knit and an oversized hat!
