5 Tips I’m Taking from the #RoyalWedding
I have to admit, I’m still not over this weekends Royal Wedding between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. To be completely honest, I never get like this when it comes to Royal Weddings, or weddings in general, but this wedding just did it for me. From the story of how they met, dated and everything leading up to the big day, I have been soaking up all the details and now that the day has gone, I am noting all of the beautiful details that made this wedding perfect (in my eyes).
Of course, I am also in the process of planning a wedding and while I may not be marrying a Prince and I’m not working with a huge budget, there were a number of details that are now inspiring me to replicate for our big day.
Outfit Change
I had always pondered the idea of doing an outfit change either when the reception starts or mid-way through the evening, and after seeing Meghan in this Stella McCartney stunner, I was sold. While I may have to see if the budget allows, but I just love the change of look as the mood changes from day to night on the big day. I’m also Queen Klutz, so maybe its an opportunity for me in case I spill on myself during the day?
Family Portraits
Don’t get me wrong, I know that for most, if not all weddings, family photos are customary, but honestly, I always find that they are rushed, unorganized and are not always “frame worthy”, and after seeing the Royal Family portraits the day after the wedding, I knew that I wanted to step up my game for the big day! I love how their images turned out, so I’m already drafting up ideas on how to get the perfect shot!
Greenery Everywhere
My favourite detail of this weekend’s Royal Wedding has to be all the greenery surrounding the church. I have always been a fan of lush greens, and this framed garland just gave me all the heart eyes!
Personal Touches
The Royal Wedding had so many beautiful touches to the day, but some don’t realize just how many personal touches there were to pull the entire day together. From Meghans bouquet which was picked from Diana’s garden to her something blue, which was also a piece from Harry’s Mom, Diana and even their first song “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, there were those beautiful final touches that made the day all about Harry and Meghan and everything they loved. That’s why I’ll be doing my best to stay away from Pinterest and trying to focus more on touches that are far more personal!
Keep It Simple (and Classy)
I feel like the second you bring up the word “simple” people think boring, but I love simple elegance, and the Royal Wedding was all about it. Meghan herself wore the most stunning dress to say her “I Do’s”, however she kept her hair and makeup relatively simple. The reason for this was not an accident and it was due to Meghans casual style which got me thinking. Most brides feel obligated to go full glam, but really, I think its important to look and feel yourself on your day, so I’m hoping to do the same and consider more of a beauty looks that feels “ME”.
