Julia Nicole Scenna was born in a quiet suburb of Toronto, Ontario and grew up playing piano, competitively dancing in Ballet, and eventually, acquiring a fondness for running. Her first memory of running competitively was when she tried out for the Cross-Country team in Grade 6. She made it through for the 400 metredash but to her dismay, placed dead last. That tournament, however, became a pivotal mark in her life as she decided then and there that no, she would not go to the National Ballet School of Canada and, yes, she would keep running.
In 2010 she graduated from the University of Guelph-Humber's Media Communications program and began her career as a publicist at several PR agencies in Toronto. Her client experience comes from an array of fashion, fitness, lifestyle, travel, finance and consumer brands, though she now currently resides as the Digital Media Publicist for Sony Music Entertainment Canada. Regardless of the career changes in her life, the one thing that stayed constant was running.
When not attending shows for work (and pleasure), or writing part time for her blog, FashionPlate.ca, Julia is training for her next big race (she recently completed a 10k!). Whether testing the latest fad at the gym or learning how to better nutrition the body, she continues to navigate the path to an ultimate balanced lifestyle. Oh and shopping, never enough shopping.
