The Bachelorette Season 12 Episode 8 Recap
This week is hometowns, aka one of the most anticipated episodes of any season. Chase kicks things off in Colorado, followed by Jordan, Robby and Texas boy Luke. Awkward family secrets are brought up, small town Florida gossip surfaces and JoJo bursts into tears at the rose ceremony.

First up is Chase and he has the really beautiful backdrop of Colorado behind him.
They have a cute snowman date in the snow and Chase opens up about his parent’s divorce. He said that is Dad wasn’t around much but now he’s in a relationship “doing it right”. Chase admits to his Dad that it’s difficult for him to express his emotions.
Next up is Chase’s mom, sister and their entire families. JoJo and Chase’s mom have a nice hug after some wine.
JoJo arrives in a field outside of Jordan’s town and is surprised to by a deer passing by.
They take a trip to Jordan’s high school and are surprised by a welcome home message.
Walking around the school, Jordan hugs all of his teachers and they stop for a makeup in the library. At first JoJo is shocked that Jordan never had a high school girlfriend until she sees an old photo. I guess he didn’t peak in high school..
Afterwards, they go to meet Jordan’s family and everyone is looking on point tonight.
After some friendly dinner conversation, JoJo goes in for the kill and asks Jordan’s brother Luke why they don’t talk to their famous brother. Unfortunately she doesn’t get much of an answer and it’s super awkward.
After, JoJo admits to Jordan that he believes him when he says he wants to be with her forever but she’s afraid that will change in the future.
Now it’s fun in the sun, rompers included, for Robby’s date. They take a horse ride around the little town of St. Augustine and get some fruity umbrella drinks on a patio.
The family dinner is pretty fun and they switch to these kind of amazing plastic cup wine glasses later in the evening. Robby’s mom breaks the news that his ex-girlriend’s roommate is telling everyone that Robby only broke up with his girlfriend to get on the show. Robby gets pretty frustrated, tells JoJo and she freaks out a little.
After being sad, JoJo decides that feels strongly enough to trust him and they kiss goodbye in the rain.
Luke picks up JoJo in a big country truck and drives her to what he says will be a “small get-together”. Jokes! There are like 50 people there.
After some fun family time and a romantic horse ride, Luke brings her a heart of flowers in the grass (Grey’s anatomy style).
He tells JoJo that she has his heart. Somehow though, he can’t seem to drop “I’m falling love with you” line.
The rose ceremony this week takes place in a very dramatic airplane hanger, suits and red carpet included.
In the pre-interview, JoJo says that she’s planning to send Luke home. Now since this never happens, ever, we know something is up. Sure enough, Luke pulls JoJo aside and says he’s falling in love with her.
JoJo proceeds to freak out, run away and start crying because now she doesn’t know who to pick.
The producers of course leave us hanging to find out next episode. Personally, I don’t think hot Chase is going to make it to the tropical paradise stage.
