Backstage is where all the magic happens.
Hair and makeup artists use their tricks and talents to create show-stopping looks to complete and create a visual masterpiece for the Mikael D show.
The wizards at Redken, lead by hairstylist Jorge Joao, created Grecian inspired updos with intricate twists and turns as they teased and sprayed each strand of hair in place. May I mention that all stylists were cool, calm and collected. That in my books is worth it’s own applause.
Grace Lee, head make-up artist, gave us the inside scoop on the makeup concept for the Mikael D show. Here’s what she used and how she used it.
For the skin, she used Maybelline‘s Dream Wonder Powder Foundation which leaves a soft, buttery finished without looking too chalky to achieve a matte finish. That’s the product to look out for in 2014 so make a note ladies!
The eyebrows were brushed with Great Lash Clear Mascara and filled in with Define-A-Brow if needed.
On the eyes, they did a mix of Breaking Brown and Downtown Brown Colour Tattoo.
In order to make the pigments from the eyeshadow standout, she used Maybelline’s Babylips over the lids and pressed the colour in to make it intense and stand out. What a great tip!
For the inner lids, they used Barely Brazen Colour Tattoo.
The lashes were coated in Volume Lash Colossal Smokey Eyes Mascara in black and then in Clear Great Lash for the finish.
To contour, they used darker Fit Stick foundation and for the highlight they used Barly Brazin Colour Tattoo and Babylips as very light highlight.
Lips were set with Master Glaze Bronzing Blush stick on lips – perfect natural lip colour which comes out in January.
Voila!
Isn’t she just gorgeous? Her blue eyes pop against the copper!
Such a stunning and simple look.
P.S. Check out the makeup table! That’s quite the spread for any beauty enthusiast.
