The Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC) announced LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris spring 2012 will take place from Monday, October 17 to Friday, October 21. Toronto’s David Pecaut Square (formally Metro Square), situated on King Street between Metro Hall and Roy Thomson Hall, will welcome a state–of-the-art fashion epicentre as the FDCC operates the week-long event at this highly visible and accessible location.
Message from the President
“Last spring’s five-day event earned more than 530 million media impressions, and is a testament to our own fashion niche, which we tag ‘CanadaCool,’” says Robin Kay, president of the Fashion Design Council of Canada. “With the spring 2012 collections marking our 25th fashion week, it must be said that as a country we are now seen as a significant presence in the global fashion marketplace. Our business of fashion, proven effective by well-known names of seasoned designers and the abundance and fresh energy of emerging designers, contributes to the 25th-week celebrations of CanadaCool.”
The LG Fashion Week Beauty by L’Oréal Paris spring 2012 collections are comprised of more than 40 shows and presentations filled with fresh, brilliant talent and sophisticated seasoned pros. Holt Renfrew showcases There’s No Place Like Holts on opening night with a montage of its Canadian design talent. Veteran labels Arthur Mendonça, Joeffer Caoc, Joe Fresh and Pink Tartan will strut their CanadaCool in the Runway room, while designers Tosca Delfino, Judith & Charles and Michi will present their collections in the more intimate Studio space. Korhani Home returns to the stage with the one and only Rug Runway Show, featuring the relationship between home décor and fashion. Working with the FDCC for its third season, the Fashion Collective brings labels Amanda Lew Kee,Chloé comme Parris, Krane and Klaxon Howl to the official schedule.
Media, industry and buyer registration is now open. The price for media and industry passes will increase to $100 on Saturday, October 1. Take advantage of early registration fees.
