Coupe Rogers in Montreal with Nespresso
If you’ve been following along, then you would have seen my latest trip to Montreal for Coupe Rogers (Rogers Cup) with Nespresso and I have to say, of all the trips I have ever taken for Girls of T.O, this has to be one of my most favourite. I have truly enjoyed my experience as a Coffee Connoisseur Club member with Nespresso, so I was so happy to take this amazing trip in July.
The trip began at Porter Airlines where we hopped on a flight to Montreal. The heat in Montreal was real as it apparently rained like crazy here in Toronto but I didn’t mind one bit. I checked into the Renaissance Montreal and I was immediately blown away by not only the decor in the reception area, but as I opened the door to my suite, I couldn’t help but take a crazy amount of photos of the wall mural in my room.
After obsessing over my room and getting unpacked, I relaxed, caught up on emails and soon enough I was getting ready for a dinner at Jatoba with my Toronto blogger friends and the Nespresso team.
Jatoba was mind blowing. Honestly. One of the prettiest but unique and original restaurants I have ever been to. The Dragonfruit Mojito that I enjoyed was enough to make me come back for more, but their dishes were not only stunning but incredibly delicious.
We ate, drank, gabbed and laughed (a lot) over the feast and before we knew it, it was time to head back to our rooms for some much needed beauty sleep so we could start the next day early!
The next day began with a delicious breakfast in bed and Renaissance Montreal gave me the perfect insta-worthy spread. While I wanted to gulp down more Nespresso and stay cuddled in my bed for the entire day, I knew that I had Coupe Rogers waiting for me and a pairing session with Master Sommelier, Elyse Lambert.
Entering the Uniprix Stadium was buzzing with tennis fans and once we arrived at the Nespresso Suite onlooking the tennis courts, I was ready to start a memorable afternoon.
The pairing with Nespresso was an introduction to the VertuoLine flavour, Tinto de Colombia and the OriginalLine flavour, Cafezinho do Brasil. It was through the pairing that we learned the notes in each coffee like the Tinto de Colombia which had a biscuit -like taste with a hint of berry. We also slurped it with a spoon to taste! The Cafezinho do Brasil on the other hand was presented in a custom REVEAL Tasting Glass and was the more intense flavour of the two.
The informative pairing was followed by lunch and more tennis watching.
We knew we only had a few hours left until our flight home so the group went out for a much needed cocktail ( or two) and a quick trip to a market with loads of delicious foods, flowers and everything in between.
The flight back to Toronto was a breeze and it was a truly memorable experience with Nespresso!
