#essencegelnails Challenge Part 1 

Nails have become so important in my beauty routine and I don’t even know when this happened! Just like our makeup and hair, nails are just as essentials to completing a flawless look, so when essence asked me to join in on their #essencegelnails challenge I happily accepted.

I am not particularly the best at nail art, but when I am dedicated to doing it myself in the comfort of my home, I want it to last! For this mani, I wanted to stick to a classic but edgy look so I reinvented the french manicure with a sharp black french manicure that is perfect for my oval shaped nails.

I was really impressed with the gel polish from essence. Application was easy (even the freehand black tip design) and the polish dried in no time. I couldn’t even believe how quickly I was able to go about my day without any chips or smudges!

After applying the bottom coat, I applied Sweet as Candy to the entire nail and opted for just one coat. I then applied Black is Black to the tip of my nail to create a triangle tip. The mani was super easy to create and the top coat left a shiny finish and dried in less than 5 minutes!
