Opening Friday, May 22, THE FACE OF AN ANGEL film starring Daniel Brühl, Kate Beckinsale and Cara Delevigne, premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival. In particularly, Cara Delevigne has been garnering a lot of buzz for her performance in this film, which was inspired by the Amanda Knox case and we can’t wait to see the model on the big screen!
BAFTA-winning director Michael Winterbottom lifts the lid on the carnivorous nature of the media. A film director, Thomas (Daniel Brühl), is offered the chance to adapt a book, which recounts the controversial trial of American student Jessica Fuller for the murder of her roommate. To help with his research, Thomas travels to Italy, where he is disturbed by the media frenzy that has developed around the case. After visiting the crime scene, Thomas begins to question not only the motives of the people around him, including American journalist Simone (Kate Beckinsale), British tabloid journalist Joe (John Hopkins) and the mysterious local, Franco (Corrado Invernizzi), but also his own. As he descends into his own personal torment, he is rescued by his friendship with a young, guileless British student, Melanie (Cara Delevigne).
Sounds juicy right? We are very familiar with the Amanda Knox case, so we are even more excited to see how this film unravels!
