Are you excited for Christmas yet? We know it’s still a couple weeks away, but with all of the songs, advertisements, and decorations all around Toronto, we just can’t help ourselves! Plus, we start planning for the Holidays way back in November! The first thing you’ll want to do to get ready for any Holiday occasion is get your beauty regime down and of course, your outfits!  Regardless of where you will be this Holiday season or who you’ll be kissing under the mistletoe, live by these rules this year and you can’t go wrong!

Rule 1: Moisturize Every Day with an SPF

Even in winter, we need to protect our skin with an SPF as we’ve mentioned here. Look on the brightside; you can pretend like you just came back from a nice hot vacation. Fake it tip you make it?  In all seriousness, make sure you’re moisturising each day with a good SPF cream and opt for foundation with an SPF in it. Winter can damage our skin in the same way that summer can and dry it out, so be sure you take care of that skin of yours – it’s the only one you’ve got!

Rule 2: Holiday Treats in Moderation, Please!

We get it, the Holidays make it incredibly easy to go overboard with sweets and pack on the lbs. Eating sweets will only make you break out and feeling sluggish, which is never good when getting dolled up for a Holiday party or event. Now, don’t get us wrong, choose your favourite sweet poison and cherish every bite, but just in moderation. Treat yourself to a couple here and there, but don’t delude yourself into thinking you’re not eating that many. Others may not know, but your waistline does!

Rule 3:  Look After Your Nails

Everyone wants nice nails around the Christmas period, so make sure you’re looking after yours. Nail art is one of our favourite beauty trends, so now is your chance to go full glitz! Glitter, designs and of course, Holiday red, you just can’t go wrong! Take some time to get a pedi/mani combo and relax as the Holiday approaches or plan a fun girls night out and paint your nail with friends. All we know is that around this time of year, hand cream and cuticle oil will be your best alley!

Rule 4: Treat Your Hair

Because of all the events coming up, you’re probably going to be styling your hair a lot more than normal. Make sure you protect it by treating it to the odd hair mask. Sleep in it, then wash it off in the morning. You’ll have strong hair that feels like silk and girlllllll you will look fly!

Rule 5: Experiment With Your Hair and Makeup

Don’t be boring at this time of year! It’s time to experiment with your hair and makeup. Try styles you’ve never thought of before like this chic, simple and stylish ponytail knot perfect for the season. Watch tutorials on Youtube to see what kind of looks you can create and of course, test until it’s perfect for you to showcase at that Holiday party. You will look festively special!

Rule 6: Wear Your Christmas Sweater With Pride

Christmas sweaters are a must this time of year. We aren’t thinking tacky ugly Christmas sweaters with pom pom balls attached to the front, but rather a charming, stylish and festive piece that just screams Christmas. Everybody should have one and wear yours with pride whenever you get the opportunity. Whether you’re shopping or out with friends, let the world know how festive you are feeling for the Holidays.

Rule 7: Sequins Are Compulsory

Sequins are compulsory this time of year. Yes, we bolded and underlined that. Red and gold sequins are even better but the options are endless with sequined skirts, dresses and tops available at all of our favourite stores. This is a Holiday after all, so what screams special occasion than with sequins, embellishments and glitter!
