Fifth Harmony for FASHION’s Summer 2016 Issue
Am I the only one that has “Work from Home” permanently stuck in their head? I’m pretty obsessed and as embarrassing as it is, I think I have the chorus dance sequence down.
Yup, I’m that girl!
The 5 beautiful ladies of Fifth Harmony work it on the Summer 2016 cover of FASHION Magazine and absolutely kill it in gorgeous all white looks. The girl group sat down with FASHION to share their style icons, talk feminism, slut-shaming and more in the excerpts below from the exclusive interview.
Their love for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:
“When men like Justin Trudeau talk about how important it is to be a feminist, it inspires more people to be that way. When the non-oppressed speak out on behalf of the oppressed, that’s when change happens.”
– Lauren Jauregui
On body image and self-acceptance:
“We’re not perfect. When you look at all of us, some of us have a double chin, somebody’s belly button is out, some of us don’t have perfect skin – but together we’ve learned to love ourselves as is.”
– Dinah Jane Hansen
On Girl Power:
“Fifth Harmony are all feminists. It’s our duty to reach out to people and let them know a woman can be just as powerful as a man can be.”
– Normani Kordei
On cyberbullying from haters:
“Confidence comes with experience and growth. I used to be insecure, so I stopped reading hateful comments on Twitter. I cut that out of my life. That’s when I grew into a person I was proud of.”
– Camila Cabello
On dress codes and slut-shaming:
“Stop the name-calling and stop telling people what to wear or how to act. I wish I could ban using ‘slut’ anywhere. I hate that fucking word.”
– Lauren Jauregui
