Founded by Jessica Frampton and Florence Gaven-Rossavik in February 2012, Fuzz Wax Bar was the first wax bar to open in Toronto and now, the co-owners are thrilled to announce their second location in the heart of the Annex.

Newly opened in late November at 488 Bloor St. W., Fuzz specializes in waxing services with a full range of Fuzz’s signature services for men and women.

“Florence and I are excited to open the doors of our new Annex location and introduce the community to our philosophy that quick, high quality waxing is an integral part of one’s beauty routine. The timing is also quite serendipitous, as it aligns with the debut of our first-ever beauty product – the Skin Perfecting Body Scrub,” said Frampton. “Using organic, natural ingredients is very important to us, so we are honoured to have partnered with fellow Canadian company, Consonant Skincare. Bill Baker [Consonant’s owner and CEO] was instrumental in bringing our vision of a between-wax exfoliant to life and we could not be happier with the result!”

After my first visit to Fuzz Wax Bar written about here, I knew that I would be back. The second location mimics their original design and I love the large rooms for treatments. It creates a relaxing environment with a breath of fresh air. Nothing is worse than getting a brazilian and feeling cramped in a small room, trust me!

After my wax, I was introduced to Fuzz’s first ever beauty product in collaboration with Canadian skin care company Consonant Skincare– the Skin Perfecting Body Scrub.  

This body scrub was specifically designed to prepare skin for waxing, help prevent ingrown hairs after waxing and effectively exfoliate dead skin cells. Can you say “Hallelujah”. It differs from similar exfoliating products by combining two different kinds of exfoliating “grains” – salt and suga which provide a more complete exfoliation. Rather than being cream or oil based, the Body Scrub is formulated with glycerin as its base, which is highly moisturizing and improves the adherence of the grains to the skin.  Once I gave it  a shot, I loved the texture of the scrub and wasn’t overly oily which I usually encounter.

Available now, the Skin Perfecting Body Scrub retails for $30 and can be purchased at both Fuzz Wax Bar locations,online and at Consonant’s flagship store (2479 Yonge St.).
