For our ultimate guide to getting in shape for your big day, have a read of this.
- Start training ten weeks before your wedding
Don’t start months in advance, planning a wedding is stressful, and you will have enough on your plate as it is. Instead, aim to start your pre-wedding training and toning ten weeks before the big day. That way, you should reach your weight loss goal and fitness peak within eight weeks, and then all you need to do is maintain it, until the big day. Ladies, this also doesn’t mean you can eat whatever you want before the 10 weeks.Don’t starve yourself but just allow yourself to start eating better and also indulge moderately.
- Use a personal trainer
Don’t go it alone. You will find it much easier to keep on track if you have a personal trainer to guide you. If hiring a personal trainer is not within your budget, take part in a specialised fitness program, like the Denver fitness program, for example. By taking part in a fitness program or using a personal trainer, you can make sure that you are doing all the right things to help you tone up. A professional trainer will be able to give you help and advice, and will also be able to create a personalised fitness plan just for you.
- Don’t aim for significant weight loss
One of the most common mistakes brides-to-be make is trying to lose too much weight in a short period. Instead, brides should aim to increase their fitness level and tone up so that they look and feel good. There are plenty of ways you can improve your fitness level, from cardio workouts to strength training workouts. The important thing to remember is keep it exciting and fun! Don’t create too much pressure, or the body will start to work against you.
- Cut out alcohol
It might sound a little tricky and difficult, but cutting out alcohol is a must. Do you really want to take in wasted calories from sugary, alcoholic drinks? No? Then make sure to avoid alcohol in the run up to your big day.
Just because you are cutting out alcohol, it doesn’t mean that you can’t socialise and have fun with your bridesmaids. If you are going for a night out, have one alcoholic drink and then stick to water for the rest of the evening. You are going to thank us on your big day!
- Eat clean
As well as regularly exercising , in the build up to your big day, make sure to eat clean, wholesome foods. Make sure to avoid sugary snacks and processed foods, as these will not only cause weight gain, but they may also make you bloat.
Eat lots of white meat and fish, lots of salads and veggies, and make sure to stick to fruit and low-fat yogurt for dessert.
You don’t have to consider these tips for just when you are about to walk down the aisle. You can use the tips for any big occasion you have coming up, like a school reunion or a big family get together or maybe your friend is getting hitched and you want to feel great too!
