Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and we know, as ladies, you want to look your absolute best regardless of where you are celebrating the day of love. I got the chance to ask the owners of Fuzz, Jessica and Florence a few questions about  Fuzz, misconceptions about waxing and the most popular wax design. Yes, we just had to go there!

GOTO: How did you two get into business together?

FWB: It’s actually pretty random. We met when Florence first moved to Canada a couple years ago. We were both vintage clothes shopping in our neighborhood and after a quick chat and a coffee date that followed, we started hanging out on a regular basis. We were both freelancers in the movie and event planning industry, so we had some time on our hands. After chatting about where to get a wax in T.O. we quickly realized we had a common problem – we didn’t know where to go for a wax without breaking the bank or being 100% satisfied with the overall service and experience. We very naturally came up with the concept of Fuzz and started developing it seriously. A year later, Fuzz was opening! J

GOTO: What can people expect when they come to Fuzz?

FWB: At Fuzz we take you from Fuzzy to Fabulous in a Flash! You can expect expert service done quickly with maximum professionalism and minimal pain. All for a very affordable price.

GOTO: What other services do you offer?

FWB: We pride ourselves on doing one thing only and doing it really, really well. The only “extra” service we have is our super cute Body Bling. You can choose between Swarovski gems or fun glitter stencils to “bling” your freshly waxed private parts. Or anywhere else you want, of course.  😉

GOTO: What are the biggest misconceptions about waxing?

FWB: Some people believe that when you start waxing the hair will grow back fuller and stronger. Actually the opposite is true! Waxing weakens the hair bulb, so over time the hair grows in finer and might even stop growing in all together.

GOTO: What is the most common bikini wax design? We are dying to know!

FWB: The landing strip, hands down!

GOTO: How do we minimize those pesky ingrown hairs?

FWB: You can minimize ingrowns by following these three important steps:

1: Exfoliate on a regular basis. We highly recommend dry brushing – it does wonders.

2: Use an ingrown serum as soon as you see irritations on your skin. We carry PFB Vanish and highly recommend it.

3: Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! A hypo-allergenic lotion applied every day will help moisturize the skin, as well as the hair. This will lead to less breakage when being waxed, and therefore, less ingrown.

GOTO: Do you have any tips on after care for waxing?

FWB: The three steps described above are perfect after-waxing tips. It is also very important to NOT shave in-between waxes, otherwise all your good work will count for nothing. Remember to exfoliate, sanitize, moisturize and come every four weeks, which will keep you smooth all year long!
