Once in a while we ask our team of experts (i.e. family and friends) to test out some new products. Today we bring you a review of two scents, one for him and one for her. Let’s be unconventional and start with the gents.
Play Sport by Givenchy
Notes:
Amyris Wood, Lemon Tree Leaf, Ginger, and Mint.
Style:
Fresh. Bold. Brave.
3.3 oz. Eau de Toilette Spray – $75.00
Here’s what Givenchy has to say about it:
Fragrance is more than just a scent. It’s an experience.
When it comes to a sporty men’s fragrance, it’s all about how it feels when it hits the skin. That cool, icy sensation misted over warm skin after a workout or a close shave imparts ad surprising freshness that sets the tone for the day. It’s like a shot in the arm. A wake-up-call for the senses.
Givenchy Play Sport’s heart of warm Amyris wood and top notes of exhilarating bergamot, ginger, lemon-tree leaves instantly energize the skin while spicy black pepper and musk give it a sexy, spicy twist. It’s stimulating, refreshing and addictive – just like adrenaline.
Here’s what our expert had to say:
I hate to admit it but I feel a tiny bit cooler wearing this scent knowing that Justin Timberlake endorses it (haha). Either way, I typically prefer slightly heavier colognes but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I really enjoy Play Sport – it’s the type of thing I love to splash on after a hot shower or an intense workout (as the description states – they were right!). I feel really good wearing it (although I’m well aware it’s not a suit). I can’t describe the scent as well as a woman I’m sure but after reading the description I can definitely say I do pick up those notes…(is that what they call them?) All in all I’m happy I could try this out and once this bottle is finished I may have to purchase one myself. Thanks ladies!
Here’s what we had to say:

Fan di Fendi by Fendi
Notes:
Pear-blackcurrant Accord, Tangerine from Calabria, Pink Peppercorn from Reunion Island, Damascena Rose, Yellow Jasmine Accord, Patchouli from Indonesia, Soft Leather Accord.
Style:
Luminous. Sensual. Addictive.
2.5 oz. Eau de Parfum Spray – $92.00
Here’s what Sephora had to say:
Fan di Fendi is the fragrance you just adore to adore. Like a hit refrain, it’s insistent, addictive, and irresistible. Electrifying you, possessing you, haunting you. Getting under your skin, inhabiting you.
A radiant floral scent resting on a leather base, this wildly exciting eau de parfum pays tribute to Fendi’s expertise with materials such as fur and leather—plus the arty, rock and festive spirit that defines Fendi. It diffuses Roman sun and electric nights, leather and roses, luxury and seduction.
A glamorous chunk of gold, the bottle features Fendi’s emblematic double F logo—a reference the Forever buckle on the iconic Baguette bag. On top, the cap recalls the black lacquered clasp of the Fendi Peekaboo bag.
Here’s what our expert had to say:
I love this!! Honestly I didn’t think I was going to like it based on the packaging alone (this usually happens to me when I see a gold bottle) – it sort of reminded me of that really old lady, heavy alcohol perfume scent that my great grandmother probably wore but I was so wrong. Fan di Fendi smells divine. I feel like a million bucks in it – it truly is addicting. I smell so posh and sophisticated without an air of pretention. Fan di Fendi is on my Christmas wish list just so everyone knows.
Here’s what we had to say:
We completely agree and absolutely adore this perfume. It not only smells amazing but also looks fabulous on a dressing table. Now all that’s missing is a Parisian apartment with a killer view and a sexy man named Philippe in your bed. Très magnifique!
