Spending my youth as an athlete, I used to dream about hairstyles I would create if ever given the opportunity to enjoy wearing my hair down and not in a ponytail. Now, after years of no longer being stuck in a leotard with a tight bun, I find myself enjoying the many hairstyles I can create, but I can never forget a good pony.

This ponytail variation is reserved for oily bad hair days, but the braid details offers a chic look to an otherwise boring hairstyle. To create this look, pull together a ponytail, then take some hair underneath the ponytail and braid. Pull apart the braid to make thicker, then wrap the braid around the knot of the pony and secure with bobby pins.
