Citta Toronto is the newly opened upscale Southern Italian restaurant located at 92 Fort York Blvd in CityPlace’s condo village. Described as an urban eatery, Citta offers a sociable and party atmosphere with a rustic and authentic menu created by Chef Ben Heaton.
Just the other weekend, I had the opportunity of enjoying a Sunday Brunch at the upscale restaurant amongst a group of fellow bloggers, and was it ever a great way to finish the week. As we took our seats to prepare for the feast, it was hard not to admire the the decor of the beautiful resto-lounge. Headed by Charles Khabouth and Hanif Harji, Citta is the perfect combination of style and taste with a posh vibe making it perfect for dinner dates to Sunday brunches with friends.
The decor’s charm begins with its 20 foot ceilings and beautifully tiled floors that are Instagram worthy (note the picture below). The floor to wall windows allow for natural sunlight to beam in, showcasing the beautiful open bar adjacent to the wood burning stove, creating an open and inviting environment. The mixture of vintage style green leather banquettes and a wall montage of gold-rimmed mirrors with the dramatic chandeliers and light fixtures, gives this space some serious character. Don’t even get us started on the bathroom!
The food complimented the atmosphere of the resto-lounge with a menu that balances wood fired pizza and classic italian dishes created by Chef Ben Heaton. The brunch menu tasting consisted of four courses with really delicious options and new favourites like Duck Eggs Benedict, the Burrata Crostini and their Passionfruit Bombloni and washed down with a traditional spicy Caesar and Prosecco Bellini.
After tasting the brunch menu, I can only imagine how great the dinner menu would be and the ambiance of the restaurant in the evening!
