If you know me, then you know that I’m a big fan of lash extensions. Just the concept itself is amazing, allowing you to have long, full lashes without mascara, lash curler or any do-hikkies you may use. It’s really an eye-opener. Literally. Regardless of your makeup regime, lashes can instantly transform your face to appear brighter.
If you know me, then you also know that I have had some bad experiences with eyelash extensions. You know, the people who consider themselves professionals but once your eyelashes are on, they are all stuck together, causing your lashes to fall out in chunks, and taking your natural lashes with them. For a woman, this can be devastating, traumatic and making you swear off extensions all together.
Jen Cowan, or as I like to call her, my saviour, ran into me at an event once and said “Girl, who does your lashes?” At this moment I had my eyelashes butchered and was almost too ashamed to admit it, but she reassured me that if given the chance, I would have a brand new outlook on lash extensions that would change my life.
A few months later after giving my natural lashes a break from the previous torture extensions, I gave Lash & Wax a shot. From the beginning, the experience was different. There was a certain calmness that I had never experienced and as I laid down, I told myself “this has to be better than before or else I give up on having lustrous long lashes”. I shut my eyes and let Jen do her thing.
I never felt uncomfortable during the process. Not once! That alone was a shocker. Jen made sure that every step of the process was comfortable and relaxed, allowing me to actual enjoy the moment of rest. There was no awkward sticky tape poking me in the eye, no slip of the fingers and tweezers she used, no waiting for the glue to dry. I literally got up as soon as the process was done and instantly I could see the dramatic effect of the lashes. Best part? Each extension wasn’t stuck together and instead, there was natural movement between each. I also loved that my eyelashes looked long and full, but not at all did they even look like extensions. Like makeup, you want to enhance your natural features without looking like you have makeup packed on, and that’s exactly what lash extensions should be. I know that now.
From $90 for a Flirt to $160 for the Superlash and up to $75 for a re-fill, you can get the desired look you want. While it may seem like a pretty penny, lash extensions are totally worth it when you have a special occasion, going on a vacation or if you just want to feel glam 24/7. I mean, who doesn’t?
