In Toronto, there is a huge discrepancy of which neighbourhood you reign from. Whether you come from Forest Hill or the Danforth – the difference is palpable. I knew at an early age that it definitely mattered which part of the grid you came from.
So what’s the best way to rep your block?
The Tuck Shop Trading Co. is a cozy, Canadian accessories line created by a fellow Torontonian Lyndsay Borschke. Her inspiration stems from her camps days in Algonquin Park and travelling to and from Toronto. She was inspired by her summers spent at camp, and splitting time between the city and cottage country.
She created a knitted toque line called City of Neighbourhoods, and I have to say they make the perfect companion for winter while bustling through an average snowstorm. Their design aesthetic is sticking to Canadian basics such as warm knits and furs, and creating a product that transcends well from city to country. Whether you rock your Danforth hat while eating a souvlaki or the High Park tuque while walking your dog, you’ll be sure to turn heads, so represent your hood and stay warm!
