Spring has sprung and it’s about to get sweeter. Le Dolci, located in Toronto just north of Trinity Bellwoods Park has a sweet shop not only offering delicious baked goods, but they also offer a range of culinary classes for students of all levels. Regardless of what your baking experience is, Le Dolci invites everyone to join in the baking fun to commemorate their 3rd year! From private parties and unique corporate events to custom cakes and treats baked fresh to order for any occasion, you can have your cake and eat it too!
“I’m very proud to be celebrating our third year in business. Since our doors opened in 2011 we’ve taught over 1,000 classes to guests from around the world. Our cake designer and baker have created the most wild and wonderful custom cakes and our sweet shop is a popular stop for residents of the city. Like me, our teachers are extremely passionate about food and we love sharing that passion with our customers via our classes and products” said Lisa Sanguedolce, owner and founder of Le Dolci. “We’re committed to providing our customers with an exciting and always-evolving calendar of classes and events, not to mention delicious treats!”
Want to get learning and your mouth watering? Their culinary classes continue to be a focus for the studio, so grab some friends or make it a fun date and get to Le Dolci with these fun events:
- If you’re dreaming of Paris and delicious macarons, try Le Dolci’s Perfect Parisian Macarons class and become an expert in making these legendary pastries. Le Dolci’s most popular class takes place bi-monthly. Next classes take place on Saturday, April 26, Sunday, May 4 and Saturday, May 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Ice cream and doughnut making with MasterChef contestant, Julie Pesce, creating the two sweet treats that everyone loves is easy thanks to Pesce’s guidance. Doughnut making takes place on Saturday, May 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and the ice cream workshop takes place on Saturday, June 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Le Dolci’s six-week Baking Bootcamp will whip your baking and pastry skills into shape. Starting Wednesday, May 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and held each Wednesday night for six weeks, this intensive program teaches attendees the fundamentals of baking leaving them with impressive new skills including how to make the perfect chocolate soufflé.
- George Brown College’s Baking and Pastry Arts professor chef Christophe Measson, leads Le Dolci’s first Market Class of the season on Tuesday, May 27 from 6 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Participants visit the neighbouring Trinity Bellwoods Farmers Market to source fresh, local ingredients then learn how to prepare a delicious meal in Le Dolci’s culinary classroom led by chef Christophe. Once the meal is ready, the class will sit down to enjoy the fruits of their labour accompanied by wine. Classes will run with chef Christophe all summer long.
- The Artisan Bread Class will be taught by passionate chef Jon Kemeny of Blackbird Bread Co. Chef Jon has traveled the world and studied under Michelin starred chefs and is now bringing his passion for all breads to Le Dolci including rolls, focaccia and sourdough. His first bread making class will take place on Friday, May 30 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Companies looking for out-of-the-box team building exercises should try Le Dolci’s Iron Cupcake Challenge. This ‘multiple station’ event works well with large groups, and guarantees fondant and buttercream fun for the entire office. Companies like Google, Royal Bank of Canada and The Boston Consulting Group have participated in this unique team building challenge and have given it a five out of five rating.
