Although the snow has started to fall in the city, designers waste no time with showcasing their collection for the seasons up ahead. This means we get a sneak peak into what trends and looks will be making an appearance on the racks of some of our favourite shops.
The Toronto fashion duo Kirk Pickersgill and Stephen Wong unveiled their Greta Constantin s/s 2015 collection, which is filled with many soft yet bold pieces. This collection finds the duo playing with the identity of a modern female- a bold vixen and a gentle nurturer. Through this concept we are able to see a clash in colours, fabrics and design that make this collection cohesive. These two creative minds found themselves in a stage of rediscovery and working with fabrics such as microfibre knit, silk wool, cotton eyelet and jersey fabrications in order to bring this collection to life.
The collection includes the brands signature slinky jersey silhouettes and transitions into a spring sensation of white and black mini-dresses. The show concludes with a range of jewel toned silhouettes, with a hint of sportswear that makes for an interesting outlook on evening wear. As The Notorious B.I.G’s “Mo Money, Mo Problems” booms through the speakers, the collection in it’s entirety is revealed. It is then that we are able to see the range of identities Kirk and Stephen were able to create for their idea of a contemporary female.
See below for some of our favourite looks at the show.
