As exciting as moving into a new home is, you will also have the difficult task of putting your very own stamp on it. You won’t need to completely redecorate each room. Rugs

There are many different styles and colours of rugs out there, but you could also get a custom rug designed. Rugs are great in various areas, especially in living and dining rooms. Use one to break up a large open space!

Curtains

If you want to keep your room fairly minimal, curtains can be used to add bold blocks of colour. If you want to turn them into a real statement, opt for super long drapes. If you don’t want your curtains to be a room’s focal point, buy some discrete blinds.

Light Fixtures

Chic lampshades can also be used as statements. But, just like with curtains, you can also add demure lampshades so they don’t distract from other features of a room’s decor. You could also go all out and opt for an extravagant chandelier to add to the wow-factor of your room.

Plants

Bring nature inside your house with some luscious green plants or colourful floral bouquets. Not only will plants and flowers bring a freshness into your home, but they also add bursts of colour. If you don’t have green fingers and think you might forget to water them, consider buying some fake greenery.

Wallpaper doesn’t have to be boring! These days, patterned styles are really fashionable. Before you commit to buying a whole roll, stick a tester square up on your wall to try and give you an idea of how the finished room would look. Patterned wallpaper isn’t always bold. Some styles are very vibrant without being too loud and outlandish.

If photos aren’t really your thing, you can put up some artwork instead. If you only have a small budget and can’t afford any expensive pieces, why not get your kids to paint some masterpieces? Not only does this give them the chance to get creative, but it adds a personal touch to your decor.
