How To Transition Your Wardrobe From Winter to Spring
It’s official. My heart is so ready for spring and since we are currently going through a little reno at home, I’m forced to prep for spring around the house a little earlier. With that being said, I’ve been slowly but surely going through my wardrobe, donating and getting rid of pieces that just don’t work for me, but most of all, I’m organizing it as I transition to spring!
And though the weather in Toronto is cold one minute then warm and sunny the next, I’ve been taking advantage of the temperamental weather and following these tips to help me gradually transition my looks from Winter to Spring!
Layering FTW
When the weather is changing, layering with be your bff. Rather than sticking to oversized, poufy and thick jackets, try and go for layers that will keep you warm but where you can also remove layers as the weather warms up.
Keep Wearing Your OTK Boots
Some may think OTK boots are just a winter shoe, but actually, keep those puppies out as you prep for spring! Remove the stockings and pair your boots with a soft chiffon skirt or lightweight dress!
Mix Textures
Nothing is cuter than a knit sweater with a chiffon or suede skirt! Between winter and spring is when you can really have fun and play with different textures. Not only will it look fly af, but the different textures will give you a whole new look!
Reinvent “Jackets”
I’ve notices that as of late, I’ve been gravitating towards denim jackets and blazers and they have become the perfect addition to my looks. Something lightweight can work easily with a simple tee underneath on the warmer days, but go for a turtleneck or light sweater underneath on chillier days and you’re winning!
You Can’t Go Wrong With Accessories
Accessories like hats, scarves and even sunnies reallycreate a cohesive look when transitioning from winter to fall. I’m sure you are well aware of my hat obsession, and I find that its become the best way to accessorize any outfit!
