London fashion week always demonstrates an eclectic attitude to fashion from street style to the runway; the clothes speak volumes to style. The British runways were filled with unique textures, colours and combinations showcasing just how edgy the regal town is. Here are some top trends seen on the runway and how you can incorporate them to your personal style.
Matchy Patchy
You know that rule that your shoes and purse have to match in colour? Well take that theory; add a bold print and you have a statement look ready to turn heads and hearts. Big labels such as Burberry, Temperley and Peter Pilotto (If anyone has seen his collection for Target you’ll know exactly what we mean). Joseph also demonstrates this in their collection with understated details whereas Jonathan Saunders’ collection exemplifies how matching prints and colours in a bold way makes an impression.

Geometry
You can finally put those trigonometry lessons to good use because shapes dominated runway looks from Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson. Harder, industrial lines are not longer associate with architectural designs and designers are focusing more on its folkier, softer counterpart.

Multi-dimensional Maximalism
Bold colours and fabrics are mixed and matched to give you optimal effect. Pair bold prints and textures in the same colour pallet to give you a more streamlined look. Temperley still infuses a folkloric vibe by matching softer prints and fabrics whereas Peter Pilotto doesn’t shy away from vibrant colours. Either way, there’s a method for every style.

Folklore
Burberry really showed us now to make dreamy prints into a sartorial fantasy. They used earthy colours, textures such as wool and more draping with silky scarves flowing overtop of fluid dresses cinched at the waist with a creamy leather belt. It’s safe to say Burberry stole the show. Mimic this look by layer a long silk scarf over a dress and cinch a thin belt at the wait to achieve an hourglass silhouette. And those monogramed ponchos? Divine.
