Maman Bakery and Café Comes to Toronto
Maman, a New York City bakery and café, has now opened their second location in Toronto’s financial district, and it’s safe to say we have found a new sweet bakery hangout.
Serving family-inspired recipes from Southern France and North America, the savoury and sweet menu changes every day, featuring dishes created from the highest quality, locally sourced ingredients which highlights Chef Armand Arnal’s classic French technique. You can expect an assortment of pastries and desserts (including their renowned chocolate chunk cookie), coffee from Toby’s Estate in Brooklyn, a selection of artisanal breads, hearty farm-fresh salads, quiches, sandwiches and soups — all made fresh daily for dine-in or takeaway. A carefully curated wine and cocktail list will be served après midi.
It doesn’t just stop with the food at Maman. The decor of the bakery and café features natural wood and crisp white with pops of pattern. Antique furniture was also shipped over from France and is paired beautifully with hues of blue and bespoke patterns designed by Toronto/New York textile designer Candice Kaye. Potted plants reminiscent of rustic homes in the south of France, Brushed concrete floors hand-painted with Maman’s signature tile, and string lights also add to the aesthetic of the café.
