Last night, apparel brand Moose&Beaver unofficially kicked off Toronto’s fashion month, as we like to call it, with the debut of their first collection.
Guests gathered at the Burroughes Building of Toronto’s Queen West neighbourhood to watch the unveiling of the label’s Fall/Winter 2013 line.
The knitted, printed, and beautifully constructed designs featured merino wool, alpaca and viscose yarns, distressed leather, and vintage fur in a range of neutral tones and complimentary pops of colour.
“I fell in love with Cornelia Parker’s Cold Dark Matter and Anti-Mass installations that were housed at the De Yonge Museum in San Francisco,” explains Creative Director and Owner Leah Antoinette of her inspiration for her first collection, “There is a quote from her that sums up much of what this collection represents, ‘…My work is all about the potential of materials – even when it looks like they’ve lost all possibilities.’”
Notable attendees: Natalie Brown, Susan Langdon, Andrew Sardone, Christopher Turner, Natalie Deane, and Kerry LaiFatt.
Moose&Beaver Apparel Fall/Winter 2013 will be available for sale across North America at mooseandbeaver.com.
The event was organized by Magnet Creative Management.
