My 2019 Beauty Resolutions
Another year, another set of beauty resolutions.
I’ve been doing this post for 3 years now, and honestly, It’s one of my favourites to help kick off all the positive vibes for a new year. And while I stay away from the word resolutions, I don’t feel the pressure when its behind the word beauty and really, its just dang fun to put together this post for the year!
With that being said, its another year, but same goals overall. I want to feel like my beauty starts from the inside but everything on the outside is in the best shape possible for 2019. I am eating better and staying active which is already a start, but I’m excited to turn back time this year and give myself all the JLo feels!
Pamper My Skin
Every year I list off things that I’d like to focus on to help my skin look and feel better and after 2018, I’m happy to report that my skin is slowly but surely improving. With that being said, there is still a long way to go, so in 2019, I really want to pamper my skin. I’m in my early 30’s and soon enough, my skin will not be able to bounce back quite like it did in my 20’s, so this is why I wanted to show my skin some extra love. Regular facials, peels, treatments and all the at home facials that I can get my hands on is what I need. 2019 will I’m sure include some breakouts and some not so great moments, but what I’m thinking my skin needs right now is some serious pampering!
TLC for Hair
My hair has been through the ringer over the years and in 2018, I began to enjoy wearing my hair naturally and giving my locks a break from heat and styling when I could, and luckily, things really improved. A few inches of growth, and I’m ready to continue giving my hair some TLC. This year though, I want to make it a point to enjoy treatments at home and at the salon and a regular trim. Your girl was holding on to her inches for so long, but now that i know its been growing, I’m ready to give it a fresh chop in a few weeks and start having fun with my hair again!
Go Au Naturale
I love dolling up as much as the next gal, but I also know how important it is to cherish the off days when the hair falling naturally and my skin is barefaced and moisturized. For so long I hated going out in public without my hair down and without makeup, but as I’ve matured, I realize how important it is give my skin and hair a break. There really is something about a confident woman wearing no makeup that just makes me want to scream “YES QUEEN!”
Drink All the Water
Listen, I write this every year and as much as its an obvious one, I always like to include it because its serious! Drinking water helps me in all aspects of my life, and good skin is just a bonus, so I am literally sitting here with my big jug of water and going to town every day, so that I can just feel great!
Positive Affirmations
Everything mentioned before means nothing if you are not truly happy when looking in the mirror. This is something I struggle with myself and after my sister convinced me to begin doing this, I’ve already noticed how much better I’ve been feeling. Granted, I have my days, but I can slowly start to feel how much positive affirmations have helped.
Your subconscious doesn’t have a sense of humour, so when you say things, even jokingly, your brain still registers it as fact. So being your own hype man is one of the best ways to heal yourself from the inside out. Look in the mirror and begin each day by saying that you are beautiful, you are enough and you have a lot to offer the world.
…And go!
