National Rum Day Bacardi Maestro Mojito
Today marks National Rum Day, and I personally don’t know how else to celebrate the occasion than with a delicious cocktail apres work! Rum has personally been a favourite of mine for years. Some of the best girls nights, dates nights and patio hangouts have involved Bacardi Canada and with that, I’ve mastered a few of my favourite Bacardi Canada cocktails, like this Mojito which is made with Bacardi Maestro.
Bacardi Canada has been around for many years and has continued to provide exceptional tasting Rum. If you didn’t know, at the beginning of the brands start in 1852, an earthquake destroyed Don Facundo Bacardi’s Massó’s business. Rather than using that as an excuse to quit, he was determined to craft a rum that would far surpass the local
rum being sold. Proof that determination and hustle can get you far, his hard work produced a rum that was balanced and light. The very rum that I continue to enjoy – BACARDÍ Canada rum.
Maestro Mojito especially happens to be one of my all time favourites and this Maestro Mojito recipe is easy to create and even easier to enjoy. It may be rainy here in Toronto on National Rum Day, but there is no doubt that this mojito will make you feel like you are sitting on a hot beach with your favourite people, sipping on this delicious drink!

Recipe:
2oz Gran Reserva Maestro
½ fresh lime cut into quarters
12 fresh mint leaves
2 heaped tsp fine white sugar (Caster sugar)
Soda water
Method:
Place the lime segments in a tall glass. Add the sugar and muddle gently to release the limejuice. Clap the mint in your hands and drop into the glass (do not muddle). Fill the glass to the top with crushed ice. Add Gran Reserva Maestro and soda. Stir well with a bar spoon to release limes and sugar from the bottom. Top up with more crushed ice. Garnish with a healthy bouquet of mint.
Pick up a bottle of Bacardi Canada Maestro and mix up one of your favourite rum cocktails!
