New Spring Food and Cocktail Menu at Porzia

It has been a little over a year since this gem, Porzia, opened it’s doors for a modern Italian cuisine experience. Since then Porzia has received praise from critics, and was named one of Toronto’s best new restaurants of 2013. There is no denying that this restaurant has that special touch that allows all their guests to leave with a full stomach and a smile. As fresh weather roams into the city owner and chef, Basilio Pesce, has launched a new spring food and cocktail menu at Porzia including events and in-house catering services.

Although the menu will be changing, customer favourites will remain such as their Polenta tots with romesco and grated parmesan, and the chicken liver agnolotti with honey mushrooms and 15 year old balsamic vinegar. All ingredients are local, both ethically grown and raised. An interesting touch to the menu is the weekly changes to the dishes, leaving customers with an endless amount of dishes to try on their next visit.

There will also be cocktails joining the menu like The Annisext Message (meletti anisette, St. Germain, Dillons unfiltered gin and fresh lime juice). If you’re a wine girl, like myself, then Porzia has an impressive Italian and Canadian wine list including their in-house amaros that will change seasonally. Their most popular being the fennel orange amaro which includes, rosemary mint, hazelnut, chamomile, and roasted chestnut.

Porzia’s services does not end there! Not only do they offer in-house catering and events services, but also chef at home dinners. That way, if you want to enjoy the restaurant but don’t want to leave your home, this is a great option! There are some sweet weekly offers as well including Prix Fixe Mondays – 3 menu items for $30 and ½ off bottles, 20% off bin ends; $10 plates on Wednesdays. Nevertheless, the options are endless!

Be sure to check out Porzia, located in Toronto’s Queen West neighbourhood, Parkdale. They are open Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 6-10pm, Friday and Saturday: 6-11pm.
