Last nights Oscar award show was full of great red carpet looks, epic selfies and pizza. Lots of pizza. This year there were amazing movies which made it hard to decide who we wanted to win the golden statue, but of course, what are the Oscars without our favourite red carpet looks.
Here are our favourites from last night:
It’s been a while since I put Kate Hudson on a best dressed list, but after tonights Oscars. How could we not? She nailed it! Her Versace gown fit her body perfectly and the removable cape really added drama to the look. Her hair and makeup complimented the gown without looking too overdone.
Lupita! Are we really shocked that the new IT girl walked the red carpet in anything other than perfect? We aren’t sure if its her team thats on point, or maybe she just knows what she likes, but there isn’t anything this girl can’t wear. For the Oscars, she opted for a custom-made Prada gown and we are convinced that no one would wear it quite like she did. Against her skin, the powder blue just pops!
On a side note. Did anyone else tear up during her acceptance speech?
Aside from Lupita, Cate Blanchett has worked the red carpet season like no other. She just knows what is going to work for her and we love seeing the outcome. This short-sleeved Armani Prive gown with its beading and details was perfect for the winner that Cate is. This woman clearly knows what she’s doing on the red carpet, and she’s proven it many many times.
I can’t always expect celebrities to come out in the most jaw-dropping gowns, so sometimes, fit is everything. Sandra rocks this simple but flattering Alexander McQueen on the red carpet, and even though we thought we were sick of the navy blue, she makes it work for her beautifully.
While seeing black on the red carpet isn’t exactly groundbreaking, Charlize Theron reminds us why we shouldn’t look past it. The deep plunge neckline with the detail at the bottom makes this dress anything but boring on Charlize. We love the simplicity for once!
It may be biased because I’m obsessed with her, but Chrissy Teigen was a breath of Spring air on the red carpet. The full strapless Monique Lhuillier gown she wore was casual but chic and her finger combed waves just made her look so comfortable and fun at an otherwise ‘uptight’ award show.
It wasn’t just about the ladies last night. The guys did their thing on the red carpet as well. We saw many bow ties, navy blues and even shorts, thanks to Pharrell, but the two men who stood out were Jared Leto and my boyfriend (he doesn’t know it yet) Kevin Spacey. When a suit fits right, that’s half the battle, but these guys were able to look classy and bad-ass at the same time. Bravo gentlemen!
When it comes to couples, there were some great looks on the red carpet last night and Best Actor winner, Matthew McConaughey along with his wife Camille Alves looked picture perfect. Can these two get any hotter?
Lastly, the very pregnant Olivia Wilde and main squeeze Jason Sudeikis looked adorable and really complimented each other on the red carpet. With so many baby bump fails on the red carpet this season, I love this simple and classic Valentino gown Olivia went with. The high neck and detail in the back really allowed you to focus on her beautiful makeup and up-do!
Were our red carpet favourites yours as well? Let us know who you loved!

Totally agree! She looked like a true Hollywood starlet – a classic beauty straight off of the 1950’s silver screen 🙂 I kind of love her.
