Pickering Welcomes Saks Off Fifth
It may have been a very long time ago, but I still vividly remember my time spent in Pickering while attending high school. Even though I grew up in Scarborough, I went to a high school in Pickering because of their sports program, and while it was a big change as I distanced myself from my elementary school friends at a young age, I quickly got to know the lay of the land and found myself hanging out with friends and the local go-to spots which of course, included Pickering Town Centre.
The Town Centre was not only where I spent some of my high school lunches with friends and watched a brand new chic-flick movie at their cinema with my girls on the weekend, but it was also where I shopped for my prom dress and even vented to a friend about an ex boyfriend. Really, it was a place that I frequently visited in my youth.
Now, as I’ve grown up and (hopefully) matured since then, I found myself visiting the area for the malls latest addition, Saks Off Fifth. I was jazzed to welcome the new location to the east end because I personally love shopping outside of the city. Shopping outside of the city gives me the opportunity to shop great deals without things being heavily picked over, and the fact that this location is only a few minutes away from me is just pure gold! Not to mention the parking was E-A-Z-Y! (Unlike downtown, of course!)
For those of you who aren’t aware, Saks Off Fifth is the outlet store of Saks Fifth Avenue which consists of a large selection of brand name fashions at a serious discount of up to 70% off! I was invited to check out the new Pickering location before it opened to the public, and needless to say, I did a little damage on the opening day.
When I entered the newest location, I have to admit that I went straight for the shoe department, and omg all the shoes! The selection was so unreal that I actually went back later in the evening with my sister because there was a pair of Karl Lagerfeld loafers that I just had to have. That morning I also snagged a pair of pink Saks Fifth Avenue heels. I could have done far more damage because the deals were amazing, but I thought I would modestly just walk out with a few items.
Aside from the shoe department, I have to admit that the sunglass section was where I was in the most trouble. A wide selection of designer brand sunglasses is my weakness, and this Saks Off Fifth was where I officially left my heart. I especially fell in love with a pair of nude/pink Prada sunnies and a pink pair of Gucci’s, so I have no doubt that I will be back in no time.
If shoes and sunnies aren’t your vise, the Saks Off Fifth also offered a huge selection of women’s and men’s fashion along with a large selection of accessories, purses, jewellery, items for your home and even children’s clothes. It’s literally a one stop shop!
If you haven’t already, I suggest you to visit the newest Saks Off Fifth in Pickering at 1355 Kingston Road so you can indulge in a wide variety of items for the entire family!
