Pretty in the City Lashes
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – eyelash extensions do wonders for your eyes and face.
Whether you’ve personally had them done before, or have just seen them on your best friend, there is no denying how much eyelash extensions can compliment your eyes and face entirely.
Having done them before, I was already aware of this revelation. I simply love and crave how much brighter my face looks when I have them done, but I knew that my trip to Pretty in the City Lash & Beauty Bar was going to be a little different than usual.
Newly opened at their new Davenport location in the heart of Toronto, I was incredibly excited when I researched the beauty bar and their list of services, and was delighted when I arrived to receive a full set of lashes that I knew would give me that little somethin’ somethin’ for the summer!
Quoted by many national magazines including Flare, Elle, Best Health and more, Master Stylist, Veronica Tran would be doing my lashes, so my blinkers would be in perfect hands. Dealing with lashes and brows, hygiene is an incredibly important factor when choosing this service, and Pretty in the City offers meticulous work and strict hygiene along with sanitation protocols that allow for the cleanest, services around.
For my treatment, I was introduced to the volume lash extensions, and it’s official that my eyelash game has changed forever. This style lash extension features fans of 2-6 very fine lashes applied to a single natural lash. This isn’t your clump lash extensions that rip out a ton of lashes as they fall out, but instead they are very fine but create dimension and thickness to your lash look.

Quick Tips for How to Make Your Lashes Last:
- For the first 24 hours, do not get your lashes wet, avoid the shower (take a warm bath instead), steam rooms, massages, facials, tanning , and sweaty workouts
- You can wash your face, however, use a face cloth to rinse around the eye area
- After 24 hours, we recommend that you refrain from eye make-up as much as you can (as your new lashes will make your eyes really stand out!) since the oils from eyeshadow and liners will break down the bond
- When you do wear eye makeup, use a lint free applicator and oil-free makeup remover to keep the skin around your eyes clean.
- Liquid liner is preferred over pencil and powder as it is not as greasy and easier to cleanse
- Use a headband when you’re hitting the gym or working up a sweat. This will prevents sweat from dripping into your eyes
The NO-NO’s:
- no curling your lashes
- no waterproof mascara
- no smooshing your face on your pillow
- no eye masks
- Use a face cloth to wash your face (instead of splashing) – also great for a gentle daily exfoliation.
- Avoid the direct spray in the shower. They’re waterproof, but not jet-spray-in-your-face-proof.
