I don’t know about you, but I’m 100% done with winter. I’m longing for weather warm enough where I can finally put away my boots and slip on some flats. In addition to swapping out boots for shoes, a few other things come to mind when I think about the warmer weather ahead: spring-cleaning and home renovations. I was checking out a few great bloggers over the weekend who have documented all of their home renovation ups and downs, and thought I’d share some of their great ideas and designs with you, along with other helpful resources to help you get Spring ready:
This blog features renovations on a Victorian townhouse built in 1901 in the heart of downtown Toronto. Some of their DIY projects include using painter’s tape to layout paneling and paint designs, updating a fireplace with modern tiles and paint colours and building an outdoor sectional bench. All great project ideas to take on this spring.

Here you can find lots of space saving ideas, such as sliding French doors and built in closets that maximize the use of space. What I really love is the backyard. It’s simple design is classic and super low maintenance, AND there’s no lawn to mow! The shed at the back of the yard is painted in classic colours and serves as a great little escape with additional storage.
Not only do these bloggers feature easy and fun DIY home projects, but they also show you how to pull off a classy wedding all for under $5000! From no sew curtains to easy furniture upgrades, this site showcases tons of DIY ideas for a variety of budgets and timelines.
If you’re really inspired to take your home to the next level and you have a little time on the weekends to spare, check out the numerous workshops offered at the Home Depot. They’ll show you everything from how to take on building a deck to updating countertops and cabinets. Best of all, they’re free!
