With Valentines and Easter fast approaching, it is definitely time to start thinking about our spring colours. After the drudge of winter, it is always nice to try something quirky and colourful. Vibrant pinks and turquoise are most definitely the colours of choice for a brunette, and blondes can go even more daring with shades of vibrant orange. If you are thinking about replenishing or replacing your makeup kit with a spring clean, then read on to find out what you are going to need to spring clean your makeup.
Eyes
The smoky look is gone, and colour with vibrancy is back. No, we’re not going all the way back to the eighties this time, but something contemporary and trendy is called for. This year is all about energy, so your colour choices need to bring that life force back to your eyes. Under line with the colour you choose for the lid to accentuate the look. Use wands for speed and precision too. For red heads try sky blues or bronzes. For dark skin tones, you can go all the way to yellow, but olive shades of green are looking good this season. Brunettes can get away with plenty in pinks or turquoise, and blonde hair looks amazing with shades of soft orange on the eyes. Eyelashes are back to a lighter, normal length, with a thin touch of upper liner if your eyes need it. Lightweight, young and fun is the look for this season, to give a sense of energy. Mascara is dark brown rather than thick black just to lighten the load a little. Use inserts rather than falsies if your own lashes are a little thin.
Lips
Gloss for shine and energy. Bring the dynamic back to your look! The wand glosses are great, and you can find all the brand cosmetics you need online at places like cosmetics4less. Some of us girlies need a top coat to stay the lipstick for the whole day, so you can use a matter look underneath. Choose a shade that compliments your skin tone and teeth shade. A bit of life and play between the lip shade and eye shade makes for great energy and a fab look this season.
Face
Blush – Yes, blush is back with a vengeance! Take your time to shape your brush action right to compliment your natural cheekbone line. If you can use a light source on each side, it is much easier to see clearly what you are achieving rather than just a facing light. Now the mornings are lighter it is a must you use natural light if you are going for a more vibrant blush effect. Treat yourself to a good brush. At this time of year, we tend to use more powdery foundation that brushes off with the blush brush and contaminates the set. Use clean fingertips to make the fine adjustments. Pale skins should stick to pale pinks while dark tones of skin can get away with most colours for blush.
