The first thing that comes to mind, and rightfully so, when you think of the brand Dr. Martens, has to be: bad ass punk rock attitude. Over the years, Docs have become favourites amongst both the hip punks of the London Underground scene as well as off-duty models around town. This year however the legacy brand is giving us a whole new collection that pays homage to over 50 years of history, while continuing to be modern and relevant for the everyday working girl.
When Dr. Martens decided it needed to move to Canadian soil, they decided to call the vibrant Queen Street West area home, and just as that area has grown and been shaped by the youth culture that surrounds it, so has Dr. Martens. I think we can all agree the newest collection could not be more perfect for those who frequent the area.
Perhaps the best demonstration to illustrate this style evolution has to be the three following styles: the 1460 is the classic quintessential Dr. Martens shoe, the Flora Chelsea Boot is a more refined version of the classic style, and the Eloise Pull-On Chelsea Shiraz is a combination of the two however they have chosen to elevate the shoe on a raised heel that combines both femininity with stylish tradition.
Fear not if you love the classic Dr. Martens style, there are plenty of those for you to feast your eyes on in all colours and patterns and some other great new styles such as the Alodie Stirrup Ankle Boot, the Clemency 8 Eye Boot, the Candice Bondage Ankle Boot, and the Bessie Ankle Strap Sandal.
