Tips for Planning Your Best Friend’s Perfect Birthday Party
So, your best friend’s birthday is coming up, and you’ve decided to throw them a party. But how do you go about making it perfect?
Choose the Best Venue
The venue is the best place to start when you’re organising the party. You could keep it simple and organise at your place or at theirs. This is the best way to keep it a surprise until the last minute because they won’t realise what’s going on until they walk in and everyone shouts “Happy Birthday.”
There are plenty of other interesting birthday venues though. For example, you could choose a restaurant or bar and have it there. It all depends on what they like and what you think they’d want from their birthday party. There’s no one size fits all answer to the conundrum, just give some thought to it.
Don’t Make Mistakes When Inviting People
If you’re taking control of the invitations, you have to be careful to get it right. There are all kinds of mistakes and problems that could be created by inviting the wrong people. What if you accidentally send out an invitation to their ex or a friend they’ve recently fallen out with? This would be a disaster.
The same is true of the people you forget to invite. You could end up causing big arguments if you forget to invite one of her other best friends. To avoid this, you just need to be careful. It’s a good idea to organise it alongside someone else as two heads are always better than one.
Consider a Theme
Themes can be great fun, but you need to get them right. Only pick a theme if you have the kind of best friend who is usually up for that kind of fun. It can be a simple decorative theme, or you can go the whole hog and put in place a fancy dress theme that everyone has to adhere to. The only problem with this is how are you doing to get the birthday girl in fancy dress too?
The best solution to this dilemma is to prepare a costume for them. Then when they arrive at the surprise party, they’ll be able to simply get changed into the costume that you bought for them. Just make sure you don’t buy the wrong size!
Keep the Secret Until the Big Reveal
When you’re planning a party for someone, it’s all about keeping it under wraps. But nowadays, this isn’t as easy as it used to be. The obvious thing to say is keep your ideas off of social media. Any hint or clue that you post on Twitter or Facebook might give the whole game away and the surprise will be ruined.
This becomes even more difficult when it comes to inviting people. It’s much easier when you only have yourself to worry about, but there’s not much you can do to stop other people from blabbing. All you can do is give them warning and keep telling them to keep their mouths shut until the big reveal comes around.
As long as you get each of these steps right, the party should e great. And don’t forget the cake!
