Grunge is back. We saw it on all of the fall ready-to-wear runways in London, New York, Milan, and Paris. The movement was made famous in the early-1990s by the Seattle band scene by the likes of Nirvana and Pearl Jam; teens immediately smelled the teen spirit and designers followed suit. Vogue made it luxe in 1992 with the Grunge and Glory shoot by Steven Meisel, and now 21 years later the famous plaid shirt is back and finding itself on some of today’s most stylish.
Want to get the look? Wrap a plaid shirt around a fitted short dress a la Ciara and Hailee Steinfeld and add a pair of killer Dr.Martens boots to complete the entire look.
Here’s what you’ll need to get the grunge look. Mix and match the below pieces and even change it up for a night look with a pair of studded or strappy heels. Don’t forget the dark lipstick!
