David Peanut Square was the hot spot in Toronto for all fashion lovers on March 23 to 27, thanks to our friends at World MasterCard and Maybelline New York. After a week-long indulgence of Canadian fashion and its designers, we have gathered our favourite moments and pieces from the World MasterCard Fashion Week of Fall/Winter 15 collections.

Mikhael Kale kicked off WMCFW with remarkable pieces of artistry featuring a mix of colours, bead embellishments, moto jackets and Mongolian shearlings. Displaying a collection filled with orange and chartreuse colours and inspired from the monologue lyrics in Daft Punk’s song “Giorgio by Moroder’, Kale makes the biker look and cut-out details chic! This collection was definitely our top 3 of the week and a definite favourite amongst fashion week goers.

But, let’s not forget the abstract runway featuring beautiful textiles from Pink Tartan! The floating clouds in the middle of the walkway turned every woman’s dream of elegant garments of bold patterns and soft textures into reality. The outerwear was the big head turner of the show as models walked in the coziest, but chic styles that all of us Torontonians are looking forward to when the colder weather comes back!

For Day 2, Designer Nikki Wirthensohn of NARCES played with lip prints, mesh layerings and cutouts, all in which promises a fashionably fun fall/winter wardrobe. Every girly girl’s dreams were answered as stunning looks strutted down the runway and showcased NARCES’ talent of mixing stylish colours like black, ivory, gold, silver, red and a combo of black/ivory with beautiful fabrics of organza, lace, laser cut satin, stretch knit, mesh, and tulle.

This coming fall, women of all sizes will be pleased with Mélissa Nepton‘s “romantic warrior” collection.  Featuring warm pastel tones and sophisticated yet relaxed garments, the Montreal based designer offers essential pieces of turtlenecks, skirts, dresses and oversized jumpsuits.

It seemed like the fun really started on the 3rd day of WMCFW with the Hayley Elsaesser show. Always known to bring the fun to Toronto, Hayley showcased her ‘midnight cowboy’ collection consisting of vibrant colours and quirky prints for her F/W collection, bringing together her inspiration of Kill Bill meets 70’s disco.

When the aesthetics of the city and fashion collide is what we enjoy most about fashion. With that being said, Mackage did not fail to please us with its coming collection for the fall/winter. Inspired by the Arctic landscape, designers Elisa Dahan and Eran Elfassy offer a collection of cool tones in  ash, blue grey, amber and off-white. Featuring our favourites in outerwear and leather accessories, we cannot wait to get a hand on Mackage’s new pieces!

When it comes to Canadian weather, keeping warm and looking stylish is the focal point for any winter outfit, and Farley Chatto just nailed it. His “Tzar Nicholas II” Winter 2016 collection at World MasterCard Fashion Week on day 4 featured lavish gowns, outerwear and accessories for men and women. Chatto’s collection had key sponsorship from NAFA and included mink, silver fox, sable and chinchilla furs were combined with wild long-sheared beaver, lynx, coyote and racoon to create a unique look.

The last, but certainly not the least at WMCFW was Mikael D‘s show which closed the fashion week off on a high note. When we tune into the latest red carpet and see celebrities dressed in the most beautiful and intricate designs, Mikael D immediately comes to mind. Known for his dramatic designs, the collection showcased Chinese influences while incorporating black, red and cutout designs that were absolutely drool-worthy. It was the perfect way to end a fun-filled and fashionable week in Toronto.
