I didn’t think it was possible nor did the thought ever really cross my mind but the Gordon sisters, Chloe and Parris, managed to capture the essence of the Chateau Marmont and translate it into a collection for their spring ready-to-wear show.
Let me explain, once the show began the tunes coming from two guitar players that flanked both sides of the stage immediately felt very ‘Hotel California’ and once the first girl walked it was as if she had just finished taking a dip in the Chateau’s blissful pool, got dressed, and was ready to roam the streets of LA in search of her next greatest love, who is no doubt a guitar player in some band playing on the sunset strip.
Each model rocked the wet hair look, no question about it and the looks ranged from bright whites to playful pastels to metallic silvers and golds and ended with a collection of black ensembles. Chloe, one half of the Beaufille design team, oversees all ready-to-wear while Parris is responsible for all jewelry and accessory design. Luckily, each is quite good at their specialties because each look was complete head to toe with jewelry to compliment the stellar garments. In some instances the two worlds collided where the skirts or dresses featured staple-like accents that seemed to hold the pieces together and went well with the raw mixed metal jewelry items.
Parris is certainly setting new trends in jewelry with the full arm bracelets a couple of the girls modeled as they walked down the runway. It appears that there is a bangle placed right above the elbow and chains connect it to another bangle right above the wrist, so you have a full arm accessory that makes enough of a statement when worn with the more minimal looks.
The collection alone is easily wearable and there is no doubt that many woman can find a special place for Beaufille in their closet. The beauty about the collection is that each item looks comfortable but are also extremely elegant and well made for the Beaufille girl; the girl who is confident in who she is but is at the same time an adventurous wallflower.
