Let’s hear it for the boys!
The most stylish guy on the block can definitely appreciate a good print and luckily Bustle is here to keep those men happy with the spring/summer 2014 collection the husband and wife duo, Shawn Hewson and Ruth Promislow, presented on the final night of World MasterCard Fashion Week.
The collection takes us on a quick trip to Mexico in a whirlwind of electric blues, tangerines, and birds of paradise prints. There was a good balance with the practical pants and shorts shown in blacks and greys, however I think the point of this entire show was to introduce bold colours and wild prints into menswear.
There was something for the ladies as well, even though Bustle is typically a menswear line, female models walked the show in two different looks, which happened to follow the arch of the show: one look in vacation wear with relaxed fit toucan printed tees and walking shorts and one look in a more conservative outfit which included playful hued walking shorts paired with printed short sleeve button downs and ties.
By placing women in the show, the design duo illustrated that although a collection may be intended for a specific type of person the reality of the situation is that if you find a piece you like and you can envision it to suit your own personal style, you have every right to do so, and they make this statement in such a fun and playful way. Who wouldn’t want to wear Bustle after this collection?
