Veuve Clicquot launched a week long event called Yelloweek in Toronto, celebrating creativity in gastronomy, the arts, fashion and lifestyle. All of the events are inspired by Veuve Clicquot founder, Madame Clicquot who pushed boundaries as a female entrepreneur in the 1800s. Can you say girl power?
“Yelloweek highlights and reflects the legendary qualities of the Maison and the ‘joie de vivre’ the brand is known for around the world,” said Stephane de Meurville, General Manager of Moët Hennessy Canada. “Patrons across Canada will experience the true essence of the Veuve Clicquot world – taste, innovation, glamour, refinement, festivities, celebration, heritage and ‘zeste de folie.’’ – Best of Toronto
That joie de vivre was eminent at the event in which glamour, style and sophistication filled the room as everyone eagerly waiting for Greta Constantine to show their Veuve Clicquot inspired resort collection. Clearly Veuve Clicquot knows how to throw a party and warm up a city that has been desperately seeking sun after an intense winter.
To kick off the week, Veuve Clicquot celebrated with a Rivera inspired event at La Societe in Yorkville. As the room filled with guests, appetizers of tuna tartar and gourmet grilled cheese floated around the crowd accompanied with the Champaign of course.
As the models stepped out, immediately you were transported to the riveria, only instead it was an edgy take on Saint Tropez. The collection featured floor-grazing gowns in dark colours such as black and baroque inspired sequenced print in silver, gold and black. The outfit that stood out the most was the bright orange bathing suit. The model glowed as she walked around the room. This is seriously a one-piece you’d want to wear while walking around the harbor of the Riviera. It’s chic, sophisticated and sexy.
The black kimono style dress was another stunner. Accessorized with a wide rimmed hat and high heels and you’re ready for cocktail hour at the rooftop bar overlooking the Mediterranean.
Finally the sequenced dresses and jumpsuit inspired by the champaign brought an element of glamour and luxury.
The makeup consisted of smoky eyes and bare lips and pin straight hair to finish off the look. Greta Constantine delivered on using the champaign as inspiration for their collection, keeping it French but adding an edgy twist.
Veuve Clicquot sure knows how to warm up Canadians after a brutal winter. Since Yelloweek is well underway, we can surly attest that this week will brighten up anyone’s day. Oh and the macaroons and cinnamon donuts that floated at the end of the event also helped.
Yelloweek is still taking place until the 11th with a few different events to take part in! Find out more here.
